The Clans On The Coast Festival was envisioned by Ron Swan who has a strong passion for the Scottish culture and is proud of his heritage.

Wherever Ron goes he spreads the Scottish heritage message about which he is so passionate. He devotes his life to opening the community's eyes to their Scottish backgrounds and has helped many people recognise their Scottish heritage, awakening a passion for their Celtic heritage in the hearts of many people in the Port Stephens area.

Ron's vision is to create an annual festival celebrating and sharing the cultural contribution of the Scottish and Celtic settlers to Australia.

These contributions have much historical significance.

Our Goals And Objectives:

• Nurture the ongoing preservation of the Celtic culture through involvement, exposure and education opportunities.

• To share an event with all peoples, community groups, locals and visitors.

• Provide opportunities for contribution and involvement of volunteers and professionals.

• To encourage involvement by our youth through schools and youth groups to ensure future continuity.

• To run an efficient sustainable, not for profit event that adds value to our community.

• To build a professionally organised annual event that the local community and region identifies with and takes ownership of.

• To be a vehicle offering opportunities to promote Port Stephens and our region, to enhance tourism regionally, nationally and internationally.

• Create opportunities to enhance employment.

• Provide an off peak attraction.

• To demonstrate benefit and value to our sponsors by providing a positive effort this delivers a positive outcome.

• To contribute to and create opportunities for charitable organisations to raise much needed funds.
